Tom's Port Guides (as at March 2013)
The covers above show just a few of the excellent port guides that Tom Sheridam produces.
This is an ongoing project and he continues to produce new guides. The list below gives hyperlinks
to the guides he has published so far (March 2013) to give you an idea of the range. Check out his
site for the up to date list. You will
also find other useful advice there, including how to load them on to your tablet to take with you.
They are all in PDF format to facilitate this. They will need a fast connection (broadband) to
download as they are incredibly detailed. Please pass on this information to your fellow travellers.
New guides for March 2013
A NEW guide for Cartagena, Colombia
Cartagena has a wonderful Walled City with beautiful Spanish Colonial
buildings, churches, plazas, and boutique hotels. It's fun to walk the narrow streets.
There is also an impressive defensive system of forts, batteries, and the famous San Felipe
Fortress. The high-rise section of the city has abundant opportunites for shopping.
A NEW guide for Panama City, Panama Canal
Popular tourist sites include the ruins of the original city (Panama Viejo),
the second location of the city (Casco Viejo), and the high-rise new
location of the city. Unfortunately, all of these areas are
either in, or next to, high crime areas. I have included Travel
Advisories and the Crime Report from the US Department of State in the
guide.
