Corner Brook is a city port on the west coast of Newfoundland, facing into the gulf of St Lawrence. nestled among the Long Range Mountains.%nbsp; The coastline is filled with magnificent fjords, thick forested areas and jagged headlands where Captain Cook first learnt his skills. Corner Brook, at the mouth of the Humber River, is a centre for tourism as well as manufacturing and fishing.%nbsp; Until 1956 it was four distinct communities that consolidated to form the present city, which now acts as a service centre for more remote areas of Newfoundland. | ||||
