Guernsey port information

Guernsey, officially the Bailiwick of Guernsey, is a possession of the (British) Crown in right of Guernsey.   It is one of the Channel Islands just off the coast of France.   If you want to know more about the relationship of the Channel Islands to the UK refer to this.

Back to the channel islands.   Guernsey is the island of Guernsey, but if you include the islands of Alderney and Sark you have the Bailiwick of Guernsey.   My mother was born on the neighbouring island of Jersey (we are not going there on this cruise) but she came back to England while still a baby.   Her elder sister, my aunt spoke French until she was six as she had started school there.   I beleive that French is dying out there now.   I have not been there yet, we cancelled the Royal Princess cruise in favour of the Ocean Princess.
