Our Princess escort was stopped from leaving by the ship board security for
some reason and so we waited on the quay, but the other passengers just set off on
their own (although they had no idea where they were going) so we had to go
too, to keep our place near the front. Once outside the gate the shore
side organiser said wait here and your tour guide will take you to the boat, but she
indicated the wrong direction. I knew the boat would be the other way, as I
had seen the steps on the way in. It was a short walk to the boat and we
got a good place at the back. There was only room for about a dozen at the
back, best for photographs, the rest were inside; looking through perspex.
We had about a two hour trip around the town basin and then through a
lock into an inland lake, and out through a lock at the other end. It
was a lovely sunny day and although the guide thought Stockholm was the prettiest of
the Scandinavian cities, we still think Oslo and Copenhagen both beat it.
